More sad news on this leap year day
Two students have perished and a third is on their way.
Reason for loss of control is for anyone’s debate.
Three sophomore students tempted mortal fate.
Straight stretch of road, near the school, just in the country
What went through the driver’s mind? Did he see that tree?
Speed is so cool to kids when behind a driver’s wheel...
Was this the case? What did those young kids feel?
Such a horrible thing to see the picture...most the car is gone.
What started as a school day shall end as immortal stone.
Woe - how those parents must feel to receive that morning call.
They are supposed to be in the school’s...not the coroner’s hall.
Despite videos and speeches warning “It could happen to you”
These statistics keep happening...What can we truly do?
This single car accident ended so many potential and great years...
What caused this death...shall they find answers in mourners’ tears?
Yes, it CAN happen to you...it seems to happen more each day...
News reaches our aching ears of another life cast away.
Metal and steel crumple and break - there’s no blood to contain a soul.
There’s no feeling to it when the driver loses car’s control.
Tires peel and shred while glass shatters and breaks.
Jaws of life can reconfigure what a crash scene makes.
So many times of this same rhyme...Lord, two more are coming Home.
In this crash, we all know, that inexperience has played its role.
Heartshattering write; may God be with those affected by this horrible accident! May God bring them comfort and peace in times of sadnessf. A powerful wake up call; you may have saved some lives today!

Powerfully penned sadness, Lori, the problem is teenagers don't realize they are behind the wheel of a weapon, they think they're invincible - my prayers and sympathies for the families, affected, and for you, for having to pen this reminder that speed kills. :(
It is tragic and often unexplainable, cars do kill and will continue to even as more and more safety features seem to be added all the time. My heart goes out to the parents for I remembered being called to the hospital when are oldest was only a teenager...she and her friends survived...they were the lucky ones.
