I wake up with a stranger every morning now
tryna forget I had a heart some way, somehow
I roll over and yet I cannot hide
from the person I am inside

That damned mirror lied today
Said that I was feeling okay
That stranger peering back from the glass
Looks to be dying twice as fast.

I’m someone’s ex future life
Someone’s burning bridge in the darkest night.
Someone’s one and only now twice replaced
Someone’s unforgettable, forgotten face.

Life’s a game they say and I cannot play
What’s the rules? Is it come what may?
Holding on to a rope not even tied.
I lost at love and I never tried.

Another drink to ease the pain
Another drop in an endless rain.
I’m no one to so many, life’s never fun
Erased from the equation, I’m never the one.

I’m someone’s ex goodnight kiss
Someone’s love letters they said they’d miss.
Someone’s plans and dreams now gone away
Someone’s unforgettable, forgotten face.

Yeah, I wake up with a stranger each day...
That stranger in me will never fade.
I’ll break the mirror before I ever try
to fix the reasons I ever cry

I’m a ghost of the distant past
An old soul growing up too fast.
The pain is real, it never fades.
No tomorrows only yesterdays.

I’m someone’s ex heartfelt thoughts
Someone’s lesson that they were taught
Someone’s one and only now twice replaced.
Someone’s unforgettable, forgotten face.

I’m someone’s ex giver of chances
Someone’s remembered music to dances
Someone’s hopes, someone’s dreams now gone away.
I’m someone’s unforgettable, forgotten face.

Long time no see Lori
Your poetry still stabs at the heart.
Don't ever lose hope.

It's hard to fathom that you wrote this in seven minutes. Shows that you feel deeply about the subject matter and the way it affects you every time you look in the mirror and don't recognize your own image of yourself. It would be nice to have you think nice thoughts, but perhaps that's not possible right now.

Lori, this is a heartfelt poem. Your pain is well-expressed.
