I'll Say Your Name

Calling someone by their name is personal. Honey, baby and sweetheart are all fine, but when you say their name it leaves no doubt that you are talking directly to them.

Poem Artwork

I’ll say your name with a sigh-

And make you feel it,

It will pass though my lips

And touch you as a gentle whisper,

I’ll look into your eyes when I say it-

And then I’ll lay it softly upon your lips.

Let my words of love

Speak to you tonight,

Taste each one that I offer you

When it rolls off my tongue,

Let me feed your hunger,

Until you are filled with my love.

As the night grows silent

And all my words have been spoken,

I’ll watch you as you fall asleep

Taking my love into your dreams,

And the smile on your face will let me know-

That you are feasting on my love again.

I like what you bring to the genre of love poems, something new and unique, a simplicity that belies the profundity of love, a simplicity that makes clear the tenderness of love. Bravo.

It is very obvious that you know the way to a woman's heart--words.

I don't know about you, but throughout my life if I came upon a strange woman and she began calling me honey, baby or sweetheart without even knowing my name, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. If they called me by my name even if they got it wrong, like calling me Mr. Ronald, I didn't feel so bad. Just to cut the formality and call me…

Ron
