I did not catch it the first time I read it, but there is a depth to this poem that can be missed. The way you have uses pictures and symbolism here to communicate something that easily could have taken several thousand words to explain- is phenomenal. You've got your own style, Lois, you're own voice. I like these roses although they signal death in Japan.

Maybe you'd like the Northern Irish poet Michael Longley. His latest collection was called, The Weather in Japan. Great man for the flora and fauna.

God has the final say so and He encourages us to worry not. All things are in His hands and timing. Life has its infinite possibilities.
All things are meant to be for the better.

Oh, yes, I did see all of my ancestors too.
Met all of them that I never knew.
They were chatting and going about their chores.
Going in and about each others doors.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy reading things that give glory to God. I can't wait to see my loved ones in heaven. But right now, I want to enjoy life :)

Love the heaven poem and looking forward to it myself. I also relate to the depression and have learned that if I can only put one foot in front of the other, I do. Movement is key and it seems that you've got that one down. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your husband.

Roses and angels always go hand in hand in my opinion. I believe in guardian angels, even here on earth. A rose reminds us of how beautiful life is, no matter what our struggles may be. Beautiful work! I will track your work and I look forward to reading more!
