this is a true story of an unusual experience with an injured bird.
A SUMMER TALE
The sun blazed hot, tempered by a breeze
As I sat on the old porch swing
Little wren hit the window and fell
Looking sorely wounded, if not dead
I picked it up and cradled it
So tiny, still, within my hands
Crooning gentle lullabies
Whispered prayers for it to live
Smoothed it's feathers, so brown and soft
Held it firmly to my beating breast
My hands clasped firm to keep it warm
Suddenly, it lifted its head
I couldn't help but smile through tears
Fearless, it looked into my eyes
Stood, took a step, stretched its wings
Walked across my hands, prepared to fly
Then swiftly soared, reaching for the sky
Awed, I sent off a sweet goodbye
Blessed by wonders of Summertime
And how God helps even tiny wrens
This is adorable and inspiring!
