So different with covid-19, but we won another battle!
So many scars and wounds,
from so many battles and wars!
My scares are from the Vietnam war,
so many young boys and soldiers died!
Still wet behind the ears,
family crying trillions of tears,
willingly they volunteered,
and gave their lives so other could live!
Yes strangers could stay free!
And peace at home for you and me!
Blood the color red can't count the dead
but they didn't die in vain,
rose to a higher plane eternity,
where all men are free,
free to be and praise their creator!
Whatever means are used to starts wars,
the same mean can be use to prevent them
The Vietnamese war vets did not get the respect that they should have gotten. Just like the essential workers and medical people who have to work long hours in dangerous conditions with rest of the population thinking they're not going to get it or a very mild case of Covid-19.
Freedom means that everyone is equally free. Certain people should not bear the brunt of a societal problem and others, scot-free. At least, people's attitude towards the Vietnam vets is changing for the better as they age.
