Birds are smart if you don't want them to,
eat up your grass seed,
feed them each day before you plant seeds.
Choirs of sparrows greet-
morning with songs,
chirping, singing, and chirping,
their blissful harmonies.
Myraids of them near my porch,
wings flapping for position,
Some fly, hover, even fight for crumbs
who will land first to eat!
todays banquet is seeds!
Your poem reflects the joy of hearing and watching sparrows enjoy the daily offering of food that they become accustomed to having.
By coincidence, I received my first hearing aids last Thursday and am finding that I'm hearing our black chinned sparrows for the first time in years. As your poem tells us, as they look out for cats and hawks, while squabbling for a place at the birdfeeder.
