About two years ago, I checked into a crisis intervention house for about a week because I was suffering from major depression. I introduced myself to everyone there and then I recited one of my poems that I had just recently wrote called " Fasten your Seatbelt. "
( click on my poem " Fasten your Seatbelt " and then come back ) I wrote this poem because of some issues that I was going through at the time that sent me into a major mode of depression. When I got through reciting my poem, I went into the community room. I then noticed a cute little caucasion girl sitting at a table that I had recalled seeing in the room that I recited the poem in. I walked over to her where she was sitting at a table, because I wanted to talk to her and get to know her. She kind of brushed me off, as if she was busy. She was writing something in a notebook. So I took it that it was a bad time to try to talk to her, so I walked away. About 20 minutes later, the same girl walked over to me and she handed something to me that appeared to be a letter. When I looked close at it, it wasn't a letter, it was a poem...that she had written about me; and below is what the poem was called, and this is how it went.

                                         Ode to Harold

                                     Such a kind gentle
soul, without him in the world, it would
                                        not be whole.
                                    Sometimes there's
sadness in his eyes, but his words
give us a pleasant surprise. In his
heart there is no demise, because
he's just like a giant teddy bear.
He has lots of love to
share. So respond to him with gentle
loving care, because this soul we
                                         cannot spare.

That is just a beautiful story, and the young lady must have thought an awful lot of you to write such a poem, (and I'm sure it's all true :-))

Peace,
Mary

Awwww, how deeply emotional this piece is. You have reached a spark in her that made the glow of faith grow strong. God bless you both and may you always smile....

Be always safe,

Was depressed for years. Little positive in it. Except this girl.
