( My depression was at its peak three years ago when I wrote this. )
Life is sweet, but now it is sour. I wallow in pitty from hour to hour. I made a wrong turn down a dead end street. Obstacles I face that I didn't want to meet. I made a left when I should have turned right. In a deep dark tunnel with no signs of light. Each step that I take, I shiver and shake; I quiver with fear and cries that I make. Life is insane, although it's a shame, I feel so immuned to this tormented pain. Crying like hell, but yet cries unheard. I feel like a worm underneath the nest of a bird. It doesn't matter if it's a crow or a sparrow. My path of life is slim and narrow. The threshold of death is to the right, and to the left. What's straight ahead may be my last breath. I need to bear seed to carry on my plead; my plead for equality from flower to weed. The rose is born with beauty and thorn, but the weeds only creed is to feed. I like this; it has flow consonant with contemporary expression inasmuch it's tight and spontaneous. It conveys the underlying feelings in a way that somehow transcends the words you use.

All I can say is that this poem is so tragic and yet hopeful.. Depresion and fear can swallow us into an abyss that often takes far too long to come back out into the light... I pray that you will see some sunlight soon.. Please don't give up... there are many who don't know you are in pain, so think of those who are also in pain and you don't know about them... We need one another... so keep writing these beautiful words...they do touch...and God is using you... thank you, lindalaw

Harold, I know exactly how you felt three years ago, I have had my share of depression and feeling out of balance. Right now, I am going through a very tough time,but I know in my soul, it is what is suppose to be happening to me, in order to reach my next step in "the plan".
