Here are three poems I have written that were inspired by how I have sometimes felt about things that surround me.
Anxiety
My heart beats fast.
My mind races.
I lay in bed eyes wide open.
Monday to Friday Bouncing, hopping, skipping.
Smiling, frowning, crying.
Eager, reluctant, defiant.
Put it all together
And you got a room full of five year olds.
Release I will shout
Into the big night sky
And then sleep.
I love the way you express yourself with your verses. I can so relate. I am an educator as well although, my "charges" have been in middle school and senior high. Nicely done, Laura. Love and best wishes,
Monday to Friday... Ah, how this sounds like my life everyday... the happy sounds of children! I enjoyed these immensely!

LOLOLOL, These are great, the last two had me spitting my tea on to my qwerty board. But all three paint such a joyful trilogy of wee poems. Uplifting, love them....
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
