Recent anger;
Revulsion;
and
Right-wing
Rumors
Spread across the
Blogosphere
Saying Obama
Wants to take
Our weapons away.
No way, I say.
America is the most violent
Nation on the earth.
At least fifteen thousand
Die each year
In shoot-outs.
In Los Angeles,
Just one city
Out of many,
There are more than
One hundred thousand
Belonging
To street gangs
and only
Ten thousand police.
The NRA and the street gangs
Would join in an alliance
And resist—
Millions would die;
The streets would run
With blood.
The casualties and dead
Might surpass
The annual slaughter
On America’s freeways and roads
Where more than forty thousand
Die each year
and
Another quarter million are injured.
And in the city near where I live, they have just recorded the number of homicides is just shy of one from the whole last year. We're five months in. It's too late. It's just too damn late. It isn't only homicide, it's fratracide. And the council is worried about the city incinerator, not increasing the police force. You are SPOT ON. Do not change one word.
Good luck shoving that genie back in the bottle-especially considering there was a reason for it being in the constitution in the first place, one forgotten by a country so far from civil wars and despotic leaders.

not depend on guns to exercise its hate. The absence of

Whether wheeled or armed, we are a nation at war with each other - powerfully penned, Lloyd. There's a saying here in Texas: the only way they'll take my gun is to pry my cold, dead fingers off of it. Why I don't have a weapon! Still, no one has the right, but gunowners should be responsible (my feelings). Well penned.
