Today, March 2nd, I went to jail for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to raise money for children. I raised $697.00. Thanks everyone for your generous donation.

Poem Artwork

I went to jail for the MDA
called on folks to make my bail
begged and pleaded for all to get me out.

Some were nice and said ok
here's some money, you won't have to stay
others...well, they laughed right in my face!

You don't understand it's not for me
but little children...who need to play
they need our help to walk or run each day.

A leg brace, to help them have some fun
a wheelchair to help them get around.
Why, don't you know...for all you give
one little child...he or she might live
A better life, please, please won't you please give?

Dig down deep in your wallet...purse
Help these children rid this awful curse
you'll be a better person for what you do today.

Well, I raised my bail, got out of jail
Did my time on this March 2nd day
I'm feeling good...way down deep inside
My heart feels proud, I want to say
I did it for...the childrens MDA.

Yes, I did it for the childrens MDA!

Joyce,

A most wonderful, inspirational write--perhaps more of us could go to jail to irradicate MD from our land. :)

jerry's kids will thank you; what a good person you are, joyce! (you look cute in your jail get up and handcuffs; but you did it for a worthy cause!) glad you got sprung; hope you raised a lot of moola for the MDA! i wish there were more good samaritans like yourself; you will be rewarded in Heaven for doing this! well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in tx., karen lynn. :D

i have friends with md and other neuromuscular diseases, and i knew a little boy back in ohio who had muscular dystrophy; it was hard seeing him get worse year after year before he finally succumbed at the age of 16 to respiratory and heart failure in relation to his muscular dystrophy. i used to see him at a lot of the country music shows; when he died, it about broke my heart! he was a huge country music fan!
