to be but you...

Poem Artwork

Zero Place

Outside any point of time and space
sunshine falls in our zero place -
shadows turn and memories fade
Nothingness is most kind here,
where love is found and made

I’m not asking you to follow
where ever the winds may blow,
and not asking you to be but you  –
to rest in mountain glow, for awhile;
gather the sunlight, clouds and isolated
sounds of crows and waterfalls . . .
Nothing more I offer than this:
to help when I can, know when
I can’t, and answer when you call.

i routinely hike a steep mountain trail here in california's coast ranges. along the way i often pause to build rock sculptures. it is in these moments i am at peace with the nothingness of my zero place.
a profoundly engaging write, deborah. simply exquisite.
wish i had more time to visit!
peace,
carolyn

"Zero Place"
Deborah, this is a stunning write.
Exquisitely written indeed!
I am there in every line of this.
I believe in all that you wrote,
this is one of my favorite parts,
"not asking you to be but you"

Henceforth, that is a great way to be, too!
One of my sentiments exactly. I think individuals
fair far better to just let one be themselves.

Thank you,
Gwendolyn

Beautiful poem...very inspiring and such a true sentiment...touched me deeply. My heritage is Native American...even though they were my ancestors of years gone by, I still feel a close connection, it stirs within me when I read stories, poems, and watch movies about them. My great, great grandmother was full Cherokee, and a wonderful person I was told by my grandfather before he passed. Again, wonderful write...keep on writing my friend it's great.
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

Through the Amazon by S. Oliver Eldridge

The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
