The hour glass of my life broke this morning and I ran out of time

No longer able to hold the tears within

I opened my eyes and cried

Releasing the pain of the past five years

Along with the missed placed dreams of my students

The frustration of their parents

The hopes and dreams of my ancestors

I freed myself

I cried for you and I cried for me

I cried for the dying souls that was being set free because of Dee

The walls that were broken down because of Dee

The Writer’s Notebooks that were filled because of Dee

The dreams that were dreamt because of Dee

The poems that were written and then performed because of Dee

Because of “Thee”

All of this existed because of you

I was planted in the soil of turmoil

It was because of you that I was watered and exposed to the sunrays

And sun showers of my life

It was in the depths of this building a passion filled teacher learned how to teach,

It was in this building that this teacher was able to reach not thousands, but enough

Giving out the words that flowed from the God we trust

It was in this building, the thoughts turned into dreams and dreams turned into legacies

It was in this building that I learned that I truly desire to be free

So as the time from my hour glass comes to an end

I pray that God leads me to the next place for my life’s journey.

“Passion” 2009
