Strong root deeply planted
Firm within mother Earth’s womb
Cradle within the folds of her breast
Gently nurtured by her rich flowing milk
****
many a tempest have blown your way
trying as they might to take you away
not for your benefit or for your gain
but to remove you from where you must remain
****
With every wind that blows your way
Mother hold you tighter and tighter still
Yes there have been times of bending and swaying
Bowing your head with shaken will
Bending like a bow but never to be broken
Like the giant Oak dancing with the winds of life.
