it must be her
a wonder lingers
across time and territory
where we met mere minutes
and hours of an autumn day
what has become of her?
we drove Ootlewah-Ringgold Road
in Tennessee, her long brown hair
unfurled out the open car window
shiny Zildjian cymbals tucked in the back
of the vintage V-8 where we heard
DJ Sandy Beach on am radio1520
WKBW radio Buffalo, my home, far away
but what about her--determined
with sensibility and drive
to get herself through another day
the woman of strength about to make a pitch
at a pawn shop bargaining integrity
just to be on her way
again in her buckskin jacket
to live another day toward hope
what's become of her?
three decades have passed
she's written between lines and on
the book's cover, "Show and Tell"
show and tell she does, and
has found her calling,
she's seen the sun
rise up, set, shine bright again
in pastures, where she rescues children
and horses, then gives praise in healing hoof patters
surely heard by the sacred Son
Great write. Love, Bonnie
