the 4 seasons, I look forward to the wafting in of autumn, but it is summer, with August about to begin...

It’s an hour before August the aroma of autumn rose straight up from the earth moments ago I welcomed the scent inhaling the depth of the breeze did I sense it earlier as I changed from capris to full-length blue jeans from short-sleeves to three-quarter length sweater it is summer after all and the sky is clear stars shine bright revealing Venus for the week it’s not the coolest night at 73 degrees inside where I live it’s 89.6 where did summer go did it arrive is it yet to come we're in the thick of it by calendar I’m not a fan of summer I do not have a tan line Irish freckles reflect my mere moments in the sun it’s an hour to August but I felt Autumn tonight shall I rush to farmer’s market get veggies for soup on stovetop can I still crunch fresh salads of summer savoring the fruit of Niagara ripened in the season's summer sun to my delight it’s an hour to August... but I felt Autumn tonight

i feel I am getting into the autumn season. Cider is out and I love that. Apple cider that is. Pumpkins are out and Halloween is coming next month. Your descriptive write put words in my heart and made me go frm summer into fall too. Loved it ***********

a gifted write is this, Sue -- autumn is indeed a spectacular time -- unfortunately for me, it is indeed winter's portent -- and therein lies the problem for me -- winter's cold and bareness do not with me agree -- beautiful photo -- JMW

This poem touched my heart. There are some chilly nights in Connecticut even in mid August or late August the temperature drops. As I become anxious about the change of seasons, I ask myself the same things, "should I put out my sweater? do I need to prepare certain things for the autumn that is just around the corner." My favorite month is October, so I am anxious to put away my capris and short sleeved shirts. I am more of an autumn person, so I really love your poem and your writing style. It is a very enjoyable poem. Please stop into my den and let me know what you think of my work.

Talented writing. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.
As for Autumn, not I. I love bright sunshine and flowering plants; even the water lilies you have with your bio will hibernate over the winter. I try my best to find something to like about cold weather, but always yearn for Spring to return.
