Air moves upward,
grasses drying, stir and whisper,
rich scents of crushed mints,
like mosses and dung, and
acid green
stirring, stirring, up
rising up
the wind that gathers clicks
off grasshopper's legs,
cicada wings,
this turning backwards, backwards;
this fresh
and salty wave of renewed
peace, like music played
upon an onshore breeze,
the breath of grasses drying,
sages rising through the air
these currents, these songs of life,
these colors sung
like rays upon the wind.

A stunning collection of words woven together with intimate care and a loving heart as only someone and a love affair with Nature can write them...like rays upon the wind.
Quite a ride through nature's senses from a particular part of the Western United States as opposed to other parts of the world where other senses fill the heart and soul of poets to write down in words nature's impressions.
Your perfection of word choice took me back to my days of desert hiking and climbing. Your sense of nature and its interlocking merge with we as humans are noteworthy. So many words have been written re: plant, tree and flowers of nature, but allowing our olfactory sense to be satiated with such beautiful thoughts and images was enlightening. Write on.
