God is my Gun
D.E.Z. Butler
Another time another day hunting with my earthly father.
He put the paper with round lines and a big black dot in the center on a tree. He handed me the 22 rifle and said, “Hit the center”. I obeyed.
I hit the center the first time I shot the 22 at the ripe old age of six years old. He knelt on one knee and said to me. “You never shoot a human. Never, Never, never!”
He formed my idea of what a gun was for; if you are hungry and need wild game in the woods to eat. But never use the gun or rifle to kill a person. A gun is to help you eat. It is not a toy or a thing to use to scare a human.
He made his own bullets and stocks on his rifles. He loved his weapons: but not to kill humans.
Respect is what I had for him and he shaped my life forever to never kill a human.
Killing with a gun or rifle is easy. If you want to kill a human; why make it easy? A gun does not scare me nor will it scare most people. Some people will freeze and not
be able to fight. Then drop to your knees and pray. Being scared is not a way to fight.
Pray for God to help you. Yes, I hear your doubts, but it is true , God will help you live or die. Perhaps God wants you to die by gun or not. Think the not before you think God wants you to die by gun.
God is my weapon for home and life. God surrounds my life. With God I have my gun.
