Floating to Another Dimension

      by
D.E.Z. Butler

I close my eyes as I am lying down in the center of my bed.
Then the mist and I find myself surrounded by a haze.
One haze, two haze, three haze and I hear the pop as I go
in the other dimension.

Always a pop that is not loud, just there; a pop for another
dimension.

I feel my body swimming and swimming. A lean to the right and a lean to the left. Not touching ground only floating to a new location. I hear the pop again and feel a cool breeze and then the talking. Lots of  languages but no smells. People of all colors and shapes. Do they see me? Never do I know. Never.

Always a pop that is not loud, just there, a pop for another dimension.

Holding these eyes tight and then the fear melts away. Opening the eyes  I see a person in front of me with handheld out. I slowly take the hand and  hear the voice. Come with me and you shall know you are not of just one
dimension. My eyes grow even larger and the grip on my hand grows tighter. What is seen can only be called different than what I have seen on earth. The people are blue and no fat ones amongst them all. Only slender and moving to buildings and doors that have the pop constantly sounding as

all of them go through the different buildings and doors. The doors are dark. Instinctively, I know they are going to other dimensions.

Then a huge pop and the hand I am holding drops my hand and I am free to float through this new dimension. My color is not like their skin color but no one looks at me. The loneliness is real. How do I speak to someone? How do
I return to my dimension? Then another pop and I have returned to my bed.

Awakened by the pop flashes of animals and buildings float by me as I try to remember where I was and who the hand belonged too. Not this time a voice says softly and slowly. Wait for another pop and we will tell you more.

No fear now just time to wait for the pop. I question the reason for a pop and then I fall into a deep sleep.  This body waiting for another pop.

It takes some real imagination to jump from dimension to dimension like you are describing in this poem. "Pop goes the weasel…" And you are there.
