Preparation for a neighborhood church sunrise service takes on a deeply spiritual and historical meaning. Please click on the link below to listen to this poem as a song.

The Field of Your Heart

It was a few days before Easter
I saw a young man in a field
He had erected three wooden crosses
A sign to our neighborhood appealed
'Please join us for a Sunrise Service Sunday Morning"

Suddenly the field was holy ground
His loving presence was all around
The ceiling is the sky above
The walls are His arms of love
And Jesus will meet you where you are
When you let worship begin in the field of your heart

Then I thought of those who gathered in fields a long time ago
Jesus spoke to them in parables
The people longed to understand and know
They were just like the people who'll gather Sunday morning

The parable of the sewer still holds true
As the mysteries of God unfold for me and you
Jesus said I am the farmer and the world is my field
Won't you plant a seed for the crop that it will yield

Suddenly the field will be holy ground
His loving presence will be all around
The ceiling is the sky above
The walls are His arms of love
Jesus will meet you where you are
When you let worship begin in the field of your heart

Hi Gina, this is so beautiful :-)Everybody should have Jesus inside of their hearts because we are the flowers and he will make us blossom if we believe in him.
