Day to day life is uncertain, the hope and tenacity of the individual determines the path we all must travel. Be it easy or extremely arduous, only those who persist attain success.
Taxes and death are the only certainties in life so I've been told
But I say life has even more certainties for me to expose
The inevitability that all earthy love will end
That man will always revert to sin
That war and pestilence will eventually kill us all
That the evil doers and greedy will not fall
That the good will not always win as we would like to believe
That prudence is not always the best way to proceed
That people don't always learn from mistakes as the elders preach
That forces not in our control will spin our lives out of reach
That life's real meaning remains obscure though many claim to know
And therein is the delemma that one must suffer all the strife and woes
And endure to the end to see how his and her story unfolds
