lasting marks

The scars on my body
have a story to tell
Some small,some gawdy
and some hidden well

The ones on the outside
are easy to see
the ones that hurt most
are inside of me

A heart-touching poem. It opens the reader's mind to the sadness of your words, empathy with you for your hidden scars, and flashes of memory of one's own scars.
I'm so glad God can heal the scars and give hope. And that makes me think of Jesus, and the scars He wears. To think that He bore the cross, "despising the shame, for the joy that waited for Him"
We are His joy.

Good writing, Randy.

Randy,

I agree, there is no pain more painful than when we hurt inside. Wonderful writing, may the scars fade.
Take care, Stuart

Soon, I hope those scars will only be a memory, maybe. I've had many. Today I deal with the new scars. If we dwell on the old the new will add more pain.

Sew words and yet, a thousands of years of world knowledge, simple words that don't explain the scars, just show them to the reader.

Right on, Randy. You express the truth. It is the inner scars that never seem to disappear. Love and peace to you,

Randy,

Truth! Very well penned. I carry a lot of scars, inside and out, as well - the ones on the inside hurt the worst. :(
