'Tis better to have loved... I've learned to love the pretty lies The ones that hide in sweet disguise The ones that seem to quickly fade To lovers lost in hope's charade. With pretense of a beauty queen The aging form in shadows seen A memory of what once was new A one time love now lost from view The test of time has failed the heart The end of love from wishful start Years have tarnished the romantic sheen Of a golden promise never seen Soft memories of lovers past Of forever dreams that didn't last Hold sweet in wafts of love's perfumes With no regrets the search resumes Sherry Gail Heim September 5, 2015 Copyright © Sherry Gail Heim 2015

In beautiful verses you have told the old old story of love's fickle promise. I guess that's why we get wise. We lose at love so much that all that is left, is wisdom.

Live, love, and laugh often. - that's what we need to do. The one who is genuine without any pretense will come along for you. You are wise to love wothout any regrets so you can enjoy fully of each romance that comes along. Keep searching, 'cause the one for you is still out there, waiting for you.

The last two lines says it all, Sherry. Coming back after a traumatic experience is hard, but necessary for our well being. We never quit looking, hoping for that magic we call love.
