The mirror that my father made
Has been around for forty years.
It has seen many happy times,
And yes, has seen some tears.
It reflects the things my father saw
Many years ago.
Things that had an effect on him;
That he felt that I should know.
The mirror saw the maker
And soaked the images in.
Then reflected back in life
The things it held within.
The mirror's glass is still intact
And its reflection still looks bright.
The maker had exercised patience,
He wanted the mirror just right.
He had taken portions of himself
And put them in the frame.
And after all was said and done,
He gave the mirror his name.
South Baltimore serves as the backdrop for this gripping story of three brothers leading very different lives but joined forever by the secrets of a painful family past.
A wonderful 'Father and Son' poem...very well-written!
