You’re assigned a number
Much easier to get a
finger pointed at- it’s
all done in mechanical
fashion; them’s the breaks
All work together right now.
Show-up everyday at the same
time- a bagged production
from nine to five; no lunch
‘cause you’re on the American
Plan; do your job in a cubicle
feel the work disease.
When your usefulness runs out
you get kicked upstairs; to
save yourself- robotically
kiss the boss’s ass; but still
have to go through the annual
review to get your zero percent raise .
Roller-coaster your way for forty
five years- forget the pension or
the 401k; collect your social
security and continue to work
until you’re six-feet dead; have
the pleasure of being disassembled.

I think most of my bosses came out of your assembly line.
Sadly this is so true. "When your usefulness runs out...you get kicked...to get your 0% increase." Increased workload but no increase pay, and no more "loyalty" checks awarded. The best one can get at Christmas is a company calendar. Wow.

I've seen many lose their jobs as of late, many factories closing down in my area. It sad. People who have worked hard for 25 to 30 yrs. are now unemployed. Many are depressed, not knowing how they'll pay the rent or buy groceries for the family. Lord help us all!
