Lance,
A beautiful and heartfelt tribute to a precious friend. I also had a wonderful friend name Shelia who lost the battle to cancer years ago. I will pray your friend can find peace and comfort in knowing the Lord walks with her and will help her in her struggle and in yours, dear friend. She is blessed to have a friend like you to hold her hand and guide her through this. God be with both of you and give you the comfort you both need. This post is sad, but superb in its writing because you wrote from the heart.

I'm sooooo very sorry to learn of your friend, Susan's illness. You are a dear friend to her, and her you. I'm so happy that during her darkest days and hours she is able to receive the light shone from your goodness and your caring. This act is so precious. You're a gem!!!

"she takes my hand - it comforts us both" - how true this is!!!...as I remember the comforts my Dad had given to me when I held his hands while he, too, was in the hospital with cancer.

May God bless you both always!!! You are a gem of a friend!!!
