You told me you wanted someone to love Someone you could call your own Someone to share your life with A place where you could belong You promised to always be there for me You’d be my lover and my friend That you would fulfill all my desires Over and over and over again You had a change of heart You turned your back on me You had a change of heart It’s not with me that you want to be You had a change of heart I’m just a memory of your past I’d always believed that our love would last. Why did you tell me you wanted a life with me? Why did you make me believe in you? All along you had eyes for someone else Bet you told them that you loved them too You didn’t have to go and break my heart And make me feel this way It hurts to remember the love we shared Because you went and took it all away. Memories of you here with me Sometimes comfort me when I’m alone I long to have you near me But now you are gone. I know you’ve found another love And with them is where you want to be I wish you could have loved me too Because I love you so much can’t you see?
