My journeys have been long and tedious
With many heartaches and burdens to bear
I try so hard to be strong within
Sometimes no one seems to care.
When I’m drowning in a sea of sorrow
And I seek for helping hands
No one comes to my rescue
But my Savior always understands.
Lord, you are my strength
You help make the way for me
You’re steadfast in fighting my battles
No matter what the problem could be.
When I think that I’ve lost the fight
You’re always by my side
To pick me up, and send me on my way
It’s through your wisdom I will abide.
I try to keep the good Lord near
He’s been such a dear friend indeed
Now I’ll never have to be alone
Because he’s always there in my time of need.
By sheer will and faith in you Lord
Grows stronger each passing day
I know you will never forsake me
My Lord, you are the way.
