To a Special Lady

Live your life, love your life, and on occasion
Take on a challenge that others find too tough
But never take a fall, i.e. don’t cheat yourself
by giving up too soon.
Be your own counselor know your guiding star
And you’ll find there’s much you can do alone.
You’ll be challenged often by those who care
And those who are not at all like you.
Be yourself.

Be a champion for a cause that’s larger than life
You’ll know it when you feel it.
Causes define our character and reveal who we are
Much better than our friends can do.
Help a friend or a stranger you meet along the way
Have faith in the glory of God
And she’ll have faith in you.

Life thrives inside concentric circles that emanate from you
like those circles that spread outward in a body of water
They reach out and touch many others
Even those who don’t want them to.
In the final summation, here is a good way to look at life...
The winners in this thing called life are not the strong with money
It’s those who throw that hidden switch and make the dark days sunny.

Your guiding star will define who you are
You don’t always need be your very best, in the end
It matters not whether you win or lose
But if you tried your best or not.
