Within this tempest tossed,
Wandering about and lost,
I search for unyielding land,
Reaching for a helping hand.
One gentle, yet fiercely strong,
A guide to help me along,
But blinded eyes cannot see
The one who can set me free.
My scared voice cries out
As winds fling me about.
Beaten down with each gale,
Weeping, fearing I will fail,
Remaining lost and never to find
The one who is meant to be mine.
Blown about, no longer standing,
I pray for a safe and sound landing,
A sweet relief from despair
From one who can truly care.
A respite from consternation,
O’, sweet cradle of consolation,
A calming and serene source,
Find a way to cross my course,
So at long last I can rest
From this horrid tempest.
