Someday I will carve my name upon a white Birch tree,
so anyone who happens by there in years to come might see.
Someday I will go to a mountain meadow, green and high,
to pick wild strawberries and reach upward to touch the sky.
Someday I will say I love you to all who are dear to me,
and let them know my feelings run true and very deeply.
Someday I will apologize for negative things I have said or done,
requesting forgiveness from each and every offended person.
Someday I will whisper sweet words of love into my beloved’s ear,
and when his heart is touched, gently kiss away each and every tear.
Someday I will pick a pink flower and rub the petals against my face,
inhaling the fragrance to the point its sweetness I can almost taste.
I should not put off these things until someday; someday may never come;
today and this very moment are the only places in time I can count upon.
