LONELY

Loneliness relentlessly whispers to me in shadows of storm,
in the brilliance of noonday and heather hours of early morn.
Day in and day out, whispering for never-ending hours,
finding my hideaway in valleys low or upon mountain towers.
Pitiless whispers constantly remind me my life is empty and bare,
Menacing reminders that I am not loved; no one really gives a care.
Chasing me, mercilessly taunting my spirit, teasing my soul,
reminding me that without love, my heart cannot be whole.
Radiantly colored screams of anguish do not murmurs overcome,
for they only reduce the whispers to a dull and monotonous hum.
Sinister whispers, I beg of you, please leave me in my misery;
your presence only worsens my condition for I concede, I am lonely.
Be always safe,
Karen
