this wren, again

I have not written in so long... this needs work, but, I simply needed to try something ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
silence without yet the drums beat broken spirited song, again. again a wren, within her wings folded tightly; flightless, fearful, lost again, again... lost within herself, her song will not come. she has fallen upon this tree, claws taut, tightened to this familiar flailing branch. this bird strung upon this line-- this tight-roped trap she clings to, freezing within the throbbing heat, forgetting again, again how to unfurl her wings and find the sky, seeking blindly toward the light she cannot see. she sits, so still, so very still while within she is deafened by the carrion seeking predator's roar. how then can she hope to seek the sky once more? how then, again to warble, spread her small wings, seek the sky, unfurl, let loose this branch and fly? ~~~~~~~~

'The tightroped trap.' Such is our lives. The bird sits upon the wire, but we walk a tightrope each day, close even to the edge of a tightrope. Our lives are a constant again and again and again thanks to this flaming tightrope. If only we could 'let loose this branch and fly.'

Well for not writing in a while you certainly unleashed a sparkle of a write with this one. Intense in it's vivid descriptions and alive with sounds of flapping wings this one yells to be read and digested to the last word. Well done Micha

Poor innocent wren how can you fly when your spirit is broken. I've known this bird in children I've taught and adults who having given up. Still...just because I listened they found their strengh. We all have ears and a helping hand when we show compassion. It doesn't cost a dime either. This is a teaching pen. I appreciate your write for the call within the lines.

I love this one like a lesson this little wren teaches us to fly once more.

This is so different from your past writing, like a new page in your life. It is maybe too straightforward in its romanticism, needs some twisted metaphors like forked branches & tongues & falling leaves. Do you mean the branch as foe or friend might be good to address.
