Thought Shopping

Thought shopping, much like all other shopping, is a most active adventure:
leafing through papers, searching through shelves,
pulling out drawers, sifting through swatches,
unconcerned with specifics, simply looking, browsing,
taking in little moments like objects
not delicately set on any one of them in particular.
Some in bottles, some in baskets, some woven, some knitted
others disassembled, in minuscule parts,
all beautifully a piece of the whole scene
as I inspect them for interests that might be hidden within
in some small detail, in some foreign texture,
some opaque idea that shapes an impervious particular
outside of an otherwise dynamic so vividly announced,
letting my mind wonder, as to invite the object to speak
allowing it to say all it has to say,
permitting its mutual searching in what it is or possesses about it
wanting to be liberated by the idea of its finding.

Thought shopping, a daily dialogue diligently due all those alive
so as to air out the misgivings of moods and quintessential findings
stacked floor to ceiling with boxes of once suitable accommodations
before the kaleidoscope lens swiveled, out of sight out of mind,
to linger on in a once reality that so desperately longed to see it.
Each offering embossed with superfluous moments of understanding
waiting to be captivating to an on looker
who is nothing more or less than thought shopping,
wanting to branch out of their every day to day dredge
to explore the latest avenues of out of the way places otherwise obscure,
free of charge and worth the wonder each new venture gives.
Some later to be revisited, some to be forgotten
and some to be dug back out on an entirely different day
when everything else turns drool and mundane
in as much as thought shopping goes.
