Alas the days of spring have came
in chilly mornings with frost remains,
over mountains through the dales,
waking crocus and daffodils.

Among the grass now new in green
where birds again return to sing.
Sparrows, warblers, mockingbirds,
swoosh through winds on winged whispers.

Sunlight bright, clear blue sky,
Easter eggs, kites to fly.
Warming air, longer days,
teams to sort, ball games to play.

Tractors plowing, seeds to sow,
sprouts to gardens so to grow.
Pollen sprinkles, grass to mow,
rumbling rain showers away they roll.

Charcoal scents from warming grills,
creatures all sorts roam the hills.
Alas the days of spring are here
welcoming all to share the cheer.
