This article seems misplaced in the Poems section but it is very good. I think that preschoolers get an opportunity to express themselves. But first, they have to have symbols, like learning letters and numbers, so that they can express in writing.
And, they need to know how to use the various colors and tools to do art in its many forms. It wasn't until I got to college before I picked up some of the communicating skills that I have. We all develop at different rates. Unfortunately, school tends to have time for only one size fits all.
I really loved your reference to some great thinkers, and especially, Pink Floyd.
