That night Bill and I lay in each other's arms.
"I love you Nikki," he said, his voice catching in his throat.
"Hey," I said, "don't cry on me. I love you too Bill."
"It's just I've waited all my life for this," he said, as he gazed at me with those beautiful chocolate eyes. "I've always said love is what life is all about."
"The truth is," I told him, " I didn't believe in love anymore until I met you. I mean, before I met you I knew I loved you but I never believed we could be together, and now we are..." I broke off as a tear fell down my face.
"Now you're crying on me!" Bill exclaimed and I buried my face into his shoulder. He rubbed his hands up and down my back to comfort me. "You don't have to cry either," he said.
I pulled back and looked at him for a second, then we both moved together at the same time and brought our lips together into a deep passionate kiss.
"I can't believe it!" I said as we broke apart, "I never knew life could be so good."
"We'll you'd better believe it honey."
"I do now," I whispered, "I do now."
I stayed in his hotel room that night. The next afternoon when we got up (we both liked to sleep late) we went down to the dining room where the others were busy eating. Tom gave Bill a huge cheeky grin, as if he knew what we had been upto the night before, which I guess he did. Georg and Gustav also giggled when they saw us. I guess Tom had told them I stayed overnight. Bill once again blushed deep red. God he was so cute when he was shy. I took his hand and sat down next to him, giving Tom a look to say "what?"
We were back on the road again that day to Barcelona. I spoke a little Spanish from a summer spent dancing there.
Bill was on a mission to find skittles and gummy bears. He put me in charge, as he and the guys were going go karting or something boys liked to do. So Markesha and I decided to hit the shops and have some girl bonding time.
We got lots of new funky clothes and jewellery. We were gonna be so hot in them and the boys would love us. We also managed to track down a sweet shop and got Bill a whole load of sweets. He would be happy!
That night in the green room, Bill and Tom were playing table tennis and fighting over points, while Markesha and I were discussing pints of a different kind. We were gonna get so drunk that night as we had a day off the next day. I promised to introduce her to my favourite cocktails. Bill and Tom looked up as I mentioned sex on the beach.
"With us?!" Tom cried.
"The drink, you silly," I said, taking his bat from him and hitting him with it.
Bill at least had the grace to look embarrassed, while Tom stopped playing tennis and tried to talk us into sex on the beach with him and Bill.
"We could make it a date," I said.
"Really?!"
"No!!" Markesha and I both shouted.
Tom looked crestfallen and we couldn't help but break into giggles. Bill came over and sat beside me, taking my hand. I whispered in his ear "maybe for you," he smiled his beautiful smile and kissed my cheek.
"Shouldn't you be doing your voice exercises," I asked him and he admitted he should.
"Plenty of time for other exercises later..." His huge smile was a sight to behold. "Anyway, go away, I have to warm up my voice too."
After an awesome gig, we were back on the bus, headed to Paris. Or "gay paree," as I called it, which made Bill giggle and Tom get flustered.
"There will be no gay business." Tom said.
"All right," I replied, "we already know that. No need to be so defensive."
"I'm not getting defensive," Tom explained.
"Sounds like he doth protest too much.."
By this stage Tom was completely flustered. Bill and I broke into giggles yet again and he high fived me.
"She's having you on, Tom," he told his brother.
"You make me giggle," he told me, as I wrapped my arm around him and held him tight.
"You'd better not be getting any gay ideas either," I joked.
"Well...just kidding!"
The G's were looking at us like we were crazy, which I guess we were! Young, crazy and having fun. I told Bill he'd better propose on top of the Eiffel Tower. In French.
"Oh crap" he swore.
"Just kidding, Bill."
