| while i had to go back a few times to try to remember who was who's family and the names and such (which is probably just my fault heehee) i found this incredibly moving and well written. i had two cats at one time bonkers and S.cat who were born to pets but grew up ferral. they didnt know people, but i met them as kittens and they knew and trusted my family, but mostly me. S.cat got pregnant and when she was to have her babies, my family was out of town so she left. i never saw her again, though i still see bonkers from time to time. it's heart breaking to lose a pet through death, giving them to a loved one to take care of, or just giving away kittens. i dont understand how people do that so heartlessly. i have always wanted to be that crazy cat lady who rescues and keeps cats. you just strengthened that wish with what you have written and what you have done. congratulations on both parts |

| I will never understand anyone who can abandon animals, cats or dogs, like that. They must be so cold and hard hearted to even consider doing it. Being a cat lover, it really is hard to imagine someone doing this to beautiful little kittens or pregnant cats. We have taken in several feral cats in the past, one even brought her mother along when she realised we were offering her a home. Tiger Lily is still with us now, though her mother, Riba, died quite a few years ago. Jackie <> < |

| i couldn't help the tears that gathered in my eyes as i read this heartwarming story. I live in the country and there are so many pets that are treated so cruel still. We had three kittens thrown out here by my house and i was able to save one . The other two were killed by cayotes. We live between two bayous and there are lots of them around.We have to keep our animals inside, so there is no hope for a baby animal out there. |

| It's a wonderful story, it awful the way people just set out cats on the road out in the country or on the highway, ect. This story tells gives you the cat's point of veiw and the nice family that trying to save the unwanted cats and kittens. |

| Okay. I'm a sap. If you have a soft spot in your heart for animals, as I do, you'll stop to look inside every box you pass on the side of the road. "Cats" gives the reader a little glimpse of human nature, both good and bad, and a better understanding of feline love. |

Loved the cat story. Bet it's autobiographical, innate?
I think there should be a special place in hell for people who take a trusting pet and dump it in the wild to fend for itself. And think how many kittens and puppies would be spared that fate if owners just had their pets spayed or neutered. |
