Cute Easter story about doing what is right.

Ayla's Lesson

Ayla bounced out the door, with her yellow and purple basket. Her fire red hair was pulled up into a ponytail. She shuffled through the weeds with her bare feet, looking for eggs. The Wind caught her
dress and blew it in between her legs.

She turned to adjust her skirt and saw an egg in the treetop. Her bubbly laughter made everyone smile. She really wasn't looking. She was just walking, looking up at the sky.

“Give me a hint where the golden egg is?”
Each of the adults looked at each other. Finally one of them spoke. “Okay, Ayla, we will give you one hint. It’s up high.”

A shorter girl standing next to her shook the gate. Ayla turned and seen why. She reached up and took the golden egg. The shorter girl never said a word and went back to hunting eggs.

“Ayla, that belongs to Carina, she
saw it first but was too short to reach it.

Ayla walked over to Carina and with a wounded look in her eyes, handed the golden egg to her.
“But I found the golden egg.” Ayla's eyes narrowed, and she stomped off into the house.

Carina just stood there with a sad look on her face. When the other kids had stopped looking and were standing around talking and laughing, Ayla walked out of the house. With her lips curling, she returned to the egg hunt. Her eyes were sad, but after she found another prize egg, she gave a lopsided grin.
Carina walked up to her, holding the golden egg in front of her, “Here, you can have it, if it will make you happy again.”
Ayla took the egg; smiling she opened it. Inside was two dollars. “Here, Carina, lets share it.”
Carina hugged Ayla; both started laughing and searching together for the eggs that were left. Finally the two sat down on the ground and ate their candy and counted how much money they had found.

Happy Easter

Stories about sharing are always appreciated. I am a twin. We were often confronted with one thing. Most of the time I let my brother look, play, or use it first because I knew that I would be able to after he was through. We always split the money 50/50. Hence, I learned sharing very early as a result.
