This is the sequel to THE MYSTERY OF BINCOMBE TOWERS and sees the Johnson family moving to Weymouth to make a new life for themselves. However, very soon the children find themselves involved in another thrilling adventure. Some members of the Edwards gang have been imprisoned after gang member, Wally Crow grasses them up to gain a lighter sentence. The High Court Judge, Jeffrey Holland-Stacey who resided on the case becomes a target and goes missing. He has a uncanny resemblance to Wally Crow. Having lost his memory following a fall over the cliff tops near his home, Jeffrey Holland-Stacey ends up in Weymouth, in fact hiding in the cellar of the Johnson's new home and the action begins. Once the children have made contact with him and believe that he is not Wally Crow, who according to the Sky News, is also believed to be in Weymouth area, they set out to try and help him sort his mind out. This where the adventure becomes hot with the Edwards gang, Wally Crow and the police trying to find the children and Jeffrey Holland-Stacey.
