A collection of over 100 mirror poems, each set of two poems reflecting similarities, differences, and opposites of shadow and light on themes pertaining to the human condition. These poems explore the intricacies and intimacies of loyalty and love, friendship and treachery, happiness and sorrow, all the emotions in the human repertoire that make us distinctly who we are in this modern era of today's world. Who would have thought,
That love could be so complex.
An emotion always over-wrought,
As demanding as a test.
Our mind’s thoughts run frantic.
Does she love me, does she not?
What could be more pedantic,
Than to tie ourselves into a knot.
Or the love turns dark and grave,
Lost in the shadows of the night.
Such fleeting love no one can save.
Whatever happened to the light?
Such simplicity need not be complex
Take a deep breath, let love do the rest
