Intriguing Adventure
I really enjoyed this story even though it took me awhile to become accustomed to the dialect used in this book. The story takes place in the very early 1900s and uses old english and sailing terms and phrases. The story of Jud Beasley, his comrades, enemies and love interest, Edith, comes to life right from the beginning. I learned much about old fishing vessels, schooners, and the lives of seamen as I followed Jud on his adventures as he tried to win the hand of Edith and avenge his father's death. I would like to express great gratitude to the author's grand-daughter for taking the time and effort to publish his entertaining story.
