Chapter Six: How Will You Climb? The Oracle Atilapa
At the stroke of midnight, a guide outlined by smoke gently woke Camille and Diego from their rest. No one else awoke as they quietly left the fairy camp grounds and walked through a path that was magically opened as they followed the guide’s trail leading to the great mountain Malunwi. The guide said nothing, only turning to indicate the direction every so often until they came upon an opening that crystallized at the right of the base of the mountain.
“It’s a good thing that Zodra warned us about this rendezvous because quite honestly Camille, midnight strolls in the wilderness are not my idea of a trip to the country.”
“You can say that again D.” Camille whispered back.
“Silence. You are nearing the Oracle Atilapa.” stated the spirit guide, putting an end to any further dialogue.
After a series of twists and turns, Camille and Diego entered a central chamber within the core of the mountain Malunwi.
“Enter. Atilapa is here.” stated the guide, then drifting away to a remote corner.
In front of Camille and Diego stood an impressive American Indian chiseled formation made of reddish brown limestone. His features were sharp and his eyes glowed with bright red larva as he looked down upon Camille and Diego. He stepped out from his rest place carved within the mountain’s core bedrock and walked towards a throne seat that was situated at the center of the chamber room. His steps were heavy and few, causing the chamber to vibrate as if it announced the entrance of its guardian.
Atilapa sat and summoned his pupils towards him, “Come closer Camille and Diego. I have been awaiting you. You are the warriors, prophesized from the beginning of times by the great Creator OhMmm. What say you is your purpose for being here at this time? What have you learned from the first battle brave ones?”
“I can’t really say Atilapa. I understand that we were picked and directed to help for the greater good of a world fallen into darkness during this particular time… Is that not our mission?” Camille responded with a slight pause.
“Yes, you have spoken well but you are missing part of the greater purpose Camille. You Diego, what say you of all this?”
“I.. I believe this is as much about us as it is for a greater good.” responded Diego
“Good, young Diego, I see a heart of wisdom in a pool of youth. That which you say is that which is. Your journey is like the days the young warriors climbed the highest cliffs, at first feared, and then sought out relentlessly. How high the climb depends how strong the will and how brave the soul is to push beyond its fears and limitations. Yet, it is not the height that proves the greatest challenge but the warrior’s reaction when looking behind. It is in the small pauses of doubt where great setbacks or advances can be made. How will you look back young warriors?”
“I don’t know Atilapa. I hope we look back to move forward.” replied Diego.
“You will know the answer when the time comes. In the meantime, how you climb along the way develops the warrior you are becoming. Climb well and stronger together. Set your will and soul towards the top and you will claim it. It is all up to you brave ones.”
“But we do climb together..?” interjected Camille, eager to recognize her and Diego’s teamwork.
“Together requires honor brave ones. You will soon learn what honor means.”
“What do you mean?” Diego asked.
“That which you ask, you are to find out through experience. The choice is yours. I return to my rest place now. My part is done. Farewell.” responded Atilapa as he turned back to his carved out resting chamber within the bedrock.
