A foreign site of lights and opportunity,
Friend, you search for total liberty.
Away from home, you made it here, facing total fear,
Breaking the law, they say, looking down on you, my vulnerable peer.
If truth be told, I admit there is truth to what they claim,
But again and again,life offers us opportunities, too many to name,
To use our allotted time, where we can choose to boldly ignite,
The flame of compassion and mercy - to do right!
After all, an account we will give, for how we treated our fellow man,
Along this path of life, of which we all have a hand.
