A Mother’s Love
Hello and welcome to another episode of Living Room Ministries. My names Debi and I’m glad you stopped by. Here are today’s scriptures
“So in the course of time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying “Because I asked the Lord for him.” 1 Samuel 1:20
“So now I give him to the Lord For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.” 1 Samuel 1:28
There is nothing greater than a mothers love, and today we read about Hannah who is one such woman. For so long she was unable to have children and was teased because of it. But her desire was so strong she was found praying one night asking that God give her a child. But she did not just ask for a child, she made a promise that if God were to give her a child she would give him back to the lord. And she did.
As you read this story you feel for this woman and her longing to be a mother. But then as you continue to read you can see the love she truly has for this child and the Lord as she gives him back to the lord.
And that’s often what we are faced with when our children head off to college or get married. Although it isn’t exactly the same we must put our children in God’s hands when they enter into the next phase of their lives just like Hannah.
Let’s pray
Father often times as we watch our children grow up we want the best for them and as parents we worry when they stumble or fall. But we know they are in your hands and you will protect and guide them when we are not there. Thank you for the gift of children and may we work to bring them up to honor you.
