I've always been a fan of vampire fiction and I am not putting down modern works like "Twilight" or "The Vampire Diaries", but they have made me long for the days when vampires were scary not sexy. This author has attempted to take the modern vampire mythos which is primarily based on the book "Dracula" and return it to pre-Dracula days when vampire stories were based on the actual old legends passed down for centuries. I also liked the way he told the story from the point of view of a modern paranormal investigative team ala "Ghost Hunters". So if I had to sum up this tale one might call it "Ghost Hunters meets Dracula's Daughter". I found it to be a real page turner and an enjoyable read. I rate this book 4 stars out of 5.
