Maggie is an artist who can't seem to get her career kick-started. Why are strange forces trying to stop her?
Maggie is an artist who lives in New York City. Now that's she graduated from art school, she is ready to launch her career. She's a good artist, even inspired. But every time she gets a lead or an opportunity something goes wrong. She can't figure it out. Meanwhile, her best friend, Parker (a benighted rich girl) has finally made it go right to go to Italy for a year. While Parker is in Italy, Maggie relocates to an art colony on Long Island. In the little town of Fleetwater, she has picked out a gallery at which to show her work. The gallery accepts her and she's off and running. She even meets a local guy, Boyd, a carpenter, who's good boyfriend material. Everything is going great until Parker comes back to visit. She and Boyd and Maggie begin to realize Maggie is in serious danger. Only the reader is in on the secret of who the bad guys are, what they really are and why Maggie and her friends have to get the hell out of town immediately. The story wraps with a payback no one would gave guessed.

“No, listen,” Maggie said picking up where she left off. “You simply can’t walk around thinking everyone has a hidden motive. You just can’t live your life that way.”
Parker shrugged. “Well, of course, not everyone is dangerous and untrustworthy. But when are you going to get it through your head that there are some bad hats out there. The trick is to be able to recognize who they are.”

A Wonderful Read
Terrific! I loved every minute of this book. Maggie is an artist who wants to be renowned and successful. Here is her chance, but there may be consequences. It's great while it lasts, but the best thing that may have come out of her chance to fame and fortune is meeting Boyd. He's a great guy! Lots of surprises and twists. So worth the time to read.
