Paris! a city known for its secrets. The stately old buildings appear to be hiding old magic, ancient alliances, and mystery; similar to the smile of the Mona Lisa painting I had just viewed at the Louvre. Her secret smile was the same as in all the prints, but the vibrant dazzlingly beautiful colors brought a wave of emotion that had me dabbing tears from my eyes. That is a very insufficient description of what I perceived, and other than duplicating the masterpiece would the portrayal be complete. When I tried to imagine how I would communicate all the elegance I’d witnessed along with the excitement that Paris inspired; I then, realized it would help introduce this feelings book’s concept by illustrating the inadequacy of translating ideas, emotions, and experiences into clear, concise communication.
For example: there is an aura about France which is enhanced by the excitement of the trip, and the architectural, artistic ambience of great Masters; whether you are on the streets or in some magnificent cathedral. I felt a strange sense of participating in History; almost deja vue in quality.
You may not react to these surroundings in the same manner as I did. In fact, there is an excellent chance that you won’t. So, now, I am left with a problem that confronts each of us daily: how do I project an image that is in my brain into your mind in the same background of feelings and attitudes. My response is, “I can’t duplicate my mental imagery so that you will know exactly how I am feeing and thinking: and neither can you.
