DAY 1
Monday, September 11, 2023
(The RV Packers)
Clear and HOT HOT HOT humid morning, the temperature already in the 90’s as we headed out for Nancy’s 8:30 a.m. haircut.
Returning back home, we expected to see Lexi’s groomer who was supposed to arrive at 9:00, but she didn’t get there until 10:30 so it was 11:30 before we could leave to pick-up the RV.
After the final inspection and signing off at Suncoast we arrived back home and began loading the RV. As in previous years the first thing we always tackle is making the bed. This year was much easier since the bed wasn’t stuck in the corner with a wall on three sides. We could actually walk all the way around it.
Next step was to bring everything out from where we had been staging it in the house. It’s pretty much like moving and we got most everything done except stocking the fridge and freezer.
We wouldn’t have gotten that far if it weren’t for our awesome friend Olga who carried just about everything out while so we could stay in the RV and put everything away.

Friends and neighbors wanted to check out the RV and wish us safe travels and that made it harder for us to get things done, but how could we refuse.
Later, hot and exhausted, we freshened up and went to meet Nancy’s sisters for dinner, our tradition to go to Gecko’s restaurant, sit at the same booth and have a meal together before anyone of us leaves on a trip.
